Spooky fun for ALL ages!

North Texas has lots of great Halloween activities for kids all ages! From Haunted houses, to movie fests, to family friendly festivals we have it all.

Check out the Alamo Draft House in Richardson, TX for a Ghost Buster's Quote Along on the 27th or Hocus Pocus Ladies Night on the 29th.

If you prefer live theater check out the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Lakewood in Dallas, TX on Halloween night.

Rather be scared silly try going to the the very haunted and very scary  Dark House in Plano, Tx.

How about something adult only for the big kids who love Halloween... check out the Day of the Dead Party at the W down town .... I hear it's to "die" for!

If a family friendly, safe community fun event fun is more your speed there are tons of fall festivals held in churches all over the area. There is sure to one near you... however one of the biggest includes Food Trucks, Face Painting, Petting Zoo, Outrageous Inflatables, Game Booths and Lots of Candy is held at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Dallas, TX and Plano, TX you can check out their Family Friendly Fall Festival here.

Wishing you a Happy and Safe Halloween!

Your October Homeowner Maintenance Check list

Well fall is officially here, even though it’s still hot outside here in North Texas!

I know I am looking forward to cooler weather and the leaves starting to change colors.  As the weather starts to cool off it’s time for October maintenance and fall gardening. I LOVE planting bulbs and anticipating them coming up in the spring!

October Homeowner Maintenance Checklist
  • Change out your AC filter.
  • Test your Smoke Detectors. Make sure the batteries are in good working order.
  • Remove all the annuals from your flowerbeds & add them to your compost pile
  • Plant pansies, decorative cabbages, and bulbs for color next spring like daffodils and tulips.
  • Cover the beds with a layer of mulch to prepare it for spring and to help control weeds
  • Mow your lawn on a lower setting, thatch your lawn with a steel rake, and aerate if required
  • Mulch trees and shrubs as well.
  • Remove dead and diseased branches on your trees so your home is not damaged during high winds or winter ice storms.
Enjoy the beginnings of cooler weather and the calm before the holiday rush begins!
